Presidential Leadership Council member Tareq Saleh met on Sunday with the Minister of Human Rights, Meshdal Mohammed Omar, to discuss the ministry’s priorities and congratulated him on gaining the confidence of the political leadership.
During the meeting, Tareq Saleh urged the continuation of documenting and monitoring grave violations committed by the Houthi movement against civilians, particularly landmine deployment, recruitment of children, forced displacement of civilians, and restrictions on freedoms in areas under their control. He emphasized the importance of presenting these violations before relevant international bodies.
The Presidential Leadership Council member also called for field visits to detention centers in liberated areas to verify compliance with legal and humanitarian standards. He stressed that a state based on law and order is the true guarantee for safeguarding rights and protecting human dignity.
The meeting further addressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with international human rights organizations and intensifying efforts to amplify the voices of Yemeni victims in international forums, while exposing the scale of violations committed against them.
