Minister of Human Rights Mashdal Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the solidarity demonstrations organized by members of the Yemeni community in the Belgian capital, Brussels, and the Dutch city of The Hague, in support of the residents of Taiz and all victims of violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militias. He also commended the efforts of participants and organizers in bringing the suffering of Yemenis to the attention of European public opinion and international forums.

In two posts on his account on the social media platform X, the Minister praised the efforts of Yemenis living abroad to demand an end to the siege of Taiz and ensure access to food, medicine, and other essential supplies. He affirmed that these activities reflect their loyalty to their people and strengthen efforts to mobilize a firm international stance to protect civilians and end their suffering.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the demonstration held in front of the European Parliament in Brussels on 23 October, during which participants called on the European Union to respond to the Parliament’s call to designate the Houthi militias as a terrorist organization.

He also saluted members of the Yemeni community and everyone who participated in the solidarity demonstration in front of the International Court of Justice in The Hague on 24 October, appreciating their continued efforts to defend Yemenis’ right to life, freedom, and security, and to keep their suffering at the forefront of European public attention.

The Minister affirmed that the demands expressed through these demonstrations require an effective international response to lift the siege of Taiz, ensure access to essential supplies, halt attacks against civilians and civilian facilities, and secure the release of abductees, including United Nations personnel. He stressed his commitment to continuing cooperation with partners to translate solidarity into tangible steps that protect Yemenis and put an end to their suffering.
