Ministry Overview

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights is a government body responsible for promoting and protecting human rights in Yemen, and works to consolidate the principles of justice, human dignity, and the rule of law. The Ministry is tasked with monitoring and documenting human rights conditions, preparing national and international reports, and following up on Yemen’s implementation of its obligations under relevant conventions and treaties, in coordination with government agencies and international organizations, foremost among them the United Nations. The Ministry also plays a pivotal role in disseminating a culture of human rights, strengthening national and international partnerships, and contributing to the development of policies and legislation in accordance with international standards, thereby enhancing the protection of rights and fundamental freedoms.
