His Excellency the Minister of Human Rights, Mr. Mashdal Mohammed Omar, met today at the Ministry’s headquarters in the temporary capital, Aden, with the Governor of Abyan Governorate, Dr. Mukhtar Al-Rabash Al-Haythami, to discuss areas of cooperation and joint coordination in the fields of human rights and humanitarian affairs.
The meeting discussed the human rights and humanitarian situation in Abyan Governorate, ways to strengthen the protection of citizens’ rights and address human rights issues, in addition to enhancing the level of coordination between the Ministry and the local authority in the governorate.
Minister Mashdal Mohammed Omar affirmed the Ministry’s attention to the situation in Abyan Governorate and its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the local authority and supporting efforts aimed at protecting citizens’ rights and upholding the principles of justice and the rule of law.
For his part, the Governor of Abyan stressed the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Human Rights, praising the Ministry’s attention to issues concerning the governorate and affirming the local authority’s commitment to strengthening joint work in the human rights and humanitarian fields.
The meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen partnership with local authorities and follow up on the human rights situation across the various governorates.
