On the Occasion of International Women’s Day

Minister of Human Rights Praises the Role of Yemeni Women and Affirms Continued Monitoring of Violations Against Women

On the occasion of #InternationalWomensDay, I extend my highest appreciation and respect to Yemeni women, who have always been and continue to be an example of patience and dedication, and an essential partner in the progress of society. Despite the challenges and exceptional circumstances our country is experiencing, Yemeni women have demonstrated their ability to remain resilient and contribute effectively to maintaining social cohesion and participating in humanitarian, social, and development work.

While we celebrate the role of women, we cannot ignore the grave human rights violations suffered by many women in areas under the control of the terrorist Houthi militias, including arbitrary detention, restrictions on freedoms, and limitations imposed on women’s movement and work.

At the Ministry of Human Rights, we renew our commitment to continuing to monitor and document these violations and to working to protect Yemeni women and safeguard their dignity and rights.

On this day, we salute every Yemeni woman who contributes through her knowledge, work, and patience to serving her homeland and society and participating in building its future.
