Minister of Human Rights, Mishdal Muhammad Omar

His Excellency Minister of Human Rights, Mishdal Muhammad Omar, enjoyes a strong academic and legal background, along with extensive practical experience in the fields of law, human rights, and institutional work. He obtained a Master degree in Private Law from Ain Shams University in Cairo in 2014 with an average of very good, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sharia and Law from the Yemeni University in Sana’a in 2011 with excellent grades.
Professionally, since October 2022, Mishdal Muhammad Omar has held the position of Secretary-General of the National Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of Human Rights Violations. This is an independent national body concerned with investigating and documenting all allegations of human rights violations and international humanitarian law breaches committed in Yemen by all parties, in accordance with international standards, and preparing periodic human rights reports, contributing to promoting accountability and ending impunity.
